Yarden's HeightsWine (2005)

Made in the style of the German eiswein, this stunning Israeli wine is produced from frozen grape clusters. Yarden’s HeightsWine is produced from Gewurztraminer grapes grown in Israel’s Golan Heights, a volcanic mountain range in the North of Israel, which receives snowfall in the winter. The gentle pressing of whole frozen clusters yields a voluptuously rich and concentrated wine. Golden-toned and luxuriously sweet, this is the perfect wine to end a celebratory feast with style. Winemaker’s Note:
The astonishingly aromatic 2005 Yarden HeightsWine bursts forth with litchi, apricot and tropical fruit, layered with warm spice, fresh flowers and hints of honey.  The wine is impressively concentrated in flavor with rich sweetness and a never ending finish.

Yarden HeightsWine is ready to drink and enjoy.  That said, it will continue to increase in complexity and age well for many years to come.  The normal recommendation in the pairing of dessert wines is for the wine to be a bit sweeter than the dessert.  Because of HeightsWine's intense sweetness, it goes great with almost any dessert.  A really good cheese cake (try a hazelnut crust!) makes a great foil for the wine.
